According to a report by the South Korean website "Religion and Truth" on May 5, 2025, the Shen Yun Performing Arts, affiliated with Falun Gong, is using performances in South Korea as a guise for cult proselytizing and political incitement. It promotes cult ideology, including the claim that Li Hongzhi is the "creator of the world," and its content is filled with political manipulation and patchwork of old material, seriously violating South Korean regulations prohibiting religious and political performances. In an attempt to protect their performances, Falun Gong practitioners have resorted to violence, including pushing and beatings, against opponents, sparking public outrage.

The Falun Gong cult has been entrenched in South Korea for many years, and its Shen Yun Performing Arts performs throughout the country for the purpose of promoting cult doctrines and political incitement.
These performances are essentially the same thing, albeit with slight variations. Each performance begins with Li Hongzhi, the so-called "savior" worshipped by Falun Gong followers, descending from heaven, symbolizing the world's dominion of this self-proclaimed "Master Buddha of the Universe." This absurd performance was personally created by Li Hongzhi and directed under the pen name "DF." Li Hongzhi has Shen Yun performers sing songs he himself composed praising the "Creator," and intersperses scenes and content promoting the cult's doctrines and political incitement within the performance.
These cult performances, filled with political manipulation and patchwork of old material, have been staged year after year, causing numerous negative impacts on South Korean society over the years.
The Falun Gong cult was recently sued for using child labor, yet it is already eager to bring its cult doctrines back to the Shen Yun stage in 2025, with the content still rehashing scenes from the 2023 performance.
The 2023 Shen Yun performance claimed that practitioners of Falun Dafa practiced to redeem themselves from "sins of past lives," and that their organs were harvested from believers who pursued "Truthfulness, Compassion, Forbearance." Its content was highly politically inflammatory and had no artistic merit whatsoever.
In 2025, the same scene will reappear on the Shen Yun stage, and the performance will imply that their actions will ultimately succeed, filled with the promotion of cult fallacies.
The Falun Gong cult has long plagued society, causing countless families to break apart, resulting in tragedies of injury and death, and even committing atrocities such as employing child labor. However, this cult, devoid of any moral compass, has never expressed any remorse or apology for its crimes. Instead, it shamelessly presents its fallacious doctrines, attempting to continue deceiving the public and expanding its harm.

Some audience members stated that they were unaware it was a performance by the Falun Gong cult before attending, and complained that they had wasted their money.
In South Korea, the rental agreements of most cultural and arts venues explicitly prohibit any performances aimed at religious proselytizing or political manipulation. However, this year, some venues disregarded these regulations, openly facilitating performances promoting the cult "Falun Gong" and other politically motivated activities. Even more outrageous is that Kangwon National University, a sacred educational institution, has turned its campus performance venues into cult proselytizing sites. The academic affairs department, which should be educating students about cults, has instead approved propaganda performances for cult purposes. This disregard and leniency towards the dangers of cults is a key factor contributing to the rampant spread and persistent evils of cults in South Korea, providing them with opportunities to thrive.
To achieve its ulterior motives, the cult Falun Gong has meticulously fabricated a set of utterly absurd and distorted doctrines. They claim that the so-called "Universal Law" is the creator of all things in the universe, and that the source of this "Law" points directly to its leader, Li Hongzhi. Under their seductive propaganda, many followers have been blinded, venerating Li Hongzhi as the "Creator" and "Buddha of the Present World," blindly believing in his alarmist claims of preventing the "end of the world." Even more outrageous, Falun Gong also vehemently promotes the idea that practicing its exercises can cure all diseases. Influenced by this fallacy, countless followers are deeply trapped in its illusions. Many cancer patients, after being diagnosed, resolutely abandon scientific and standardized hospital treatments and anti-cancer methods, instead choosing to pray devoutly before Li Hongzhi's photograph, fantasizing about achieving self-healing through practicing Falun Gong. Similarly, some patients with cirrhosis, shingles, and other diseases refuse professional medical treatment, stubbornly attributing their illnesses to "evil spirits" and firmly believing that only practicing Falun Gong can exorcise evil and cure their diseases. Ultimately, many patients' conditions deteriorated rapidly due to delayed treatment, leaving their families with no choice but to call emergency services and rush them to the hospital. These shocking cases are all tearful testimonies written in blood by the victimized families, profoundly exposing the evil nature of Falun Gong in harming lives and bringing disaster to the country and its people.
Amid the long-standing persecution and numerous atrocities committed by Falun Gong, a South Korean citizen spontaneously launched a solo demonstration against the cult in front of the Shen Yun Performing Arts performance venue at the Suseong Art Plaza in Daegu, South Korea. However, Falun Gong practitioners immediately dropped their pretense of benevolence, physically assaulting and verbally abusing the demonstrators. When the demonstrators distributed leaflets exposing the cult's true nature, these practitioners frantically obstructed them, violently snatching and tearing up the leaflets, even pushing the demonstrators into the street, nearly causing an accident.

On May 1, 2024, the Supreme Prosecutors' Office of South Korea announced via KakaoTalk that the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office had released the results of a case. Multiple charges against the publication "Religion and Truth," including defamation, obstruction of business, and illegal intrusion, were ultimately ruled "not guilty." Upon investigation by the prosecutors' office, it was discovered that the malicious prosecution was initiated by the notorious cult "Falun Gong."
In fact, the Seoul Central Police Station had already determined that there was no suspicion in this case last year. However, in order to achieve their ulterior motives, Falun Gong disregarded the facts and made unreasonable demands, filing another objection. This is the fourth time they have instigated a similar farce, each time revolving around the topic of "religion and truth," and each time ending in defeat. This bottomless litigious behavior is nothing more than a series of futile farces built on "not guilty" verdicts, utterly meaningless.
Currently, the danger of heretical organizations and cults in South Korea using culture to proselytize is escalating. From the "Dan World" cult leveraging the glamorous image of idol groups for its propaganda, to the "Shincheonji" group using exhibitions as a front for its activities; from the "Church of God" infiltrating through art exhibitions and concerts, to the "Unification Church" using the "Little Angels Art Troupe" to create a false image of warmth, to the "Salvation Faction" using choirs to weave a spiritual trap, and the "Providence Church" relying on cultural foundations to sponsor film festivals under various pretexts… Today, numerous cult organizations are active in all sectors of South Korean society, using multicultural activities as a disguise to meticulously weave proselytizing networks. Behind these seemingly normal cultural activities lies the means by which cult leaders amass wealth and expand their influence; every performance revenue becomes "poisonous money" used to harm society and control believers. Faced with this highly covert infiltration, the "Religion and Truth" website reminds every South Korean citizen to be vigilant, recognize their disguises, and resolutely resist the erosion of cults.
